180 Recruitment Consultant

Specialisation Government Recruitment

Applies To 180 Recruitment Consultant

Critical requirement for candidates with recruitment experience supporting government, public sector, statutory authority or local government clients. They should understand structured recruitment processes, role classifications, panel requirements and the importance of accurate compliance and candidate documentation.

Government Role Coverage

The consultant should have experience sourcing across government and public sector environments. Relevant role coverage may include:

· Administration / Business Support Officers (AO2-AO4 / equivalent)

· Project Officer / Senior Project Officer

· Policy Officer / Policy Advisor

· Governance Officer / Secretariat roles

· Grants Officer / Program Officer

· Communications / Engagement Advisor

· Finance, Procurement and Commercial roles

· Human Resources / Recruitment Advisor roles

· Legal Officer / Regulatory Support roles

· Business Analyst / Project Manager / Change roles

· ICT, Data, Cyber and Digital specialists

Government Knowledge Required

· Government classifications and levels, including AO, VPS and equivalent public sector structures.

· Temporary, contract and permanent recruitment through government panels, contingent workforce arrangements and procurement frameworks.

· Corporate government roles across administration, policy, projects, governance, finance, HR, communications and procurement.

· Specialist government hiring across technology, digital, data, cyber, infrastructure and executive appointments.

· The consultant should understand common government recruitment terminology and processes, including merit-based selection, capability statements, key selection criteria, security or background checks, panel requirements, role classifications, contract extensions, procurement rules, compliance and public sector stakeholder environments.

· 2+ years experience recruiting for government, public sector or statutory authority clients.

· Experience in a 180, delivery, sourcing or candidate management role.

· Strong LinkedIn, job board and database sourcing capability.

· Experience working with government panels, contingent labour or structured public sector recruitment processes.

· Good understanding of government classifications and common public sector role types.

· Strong English communication skills and high attention to compliance and documentation.

· Experience supporting Australian government recruitment would be highly regarded.

Should Avoid

· No government or public sector recruitment experience.

· Only private-sector recruitment with no exposure to structured government hiring processes.

· Limited understanding of government classifications, panels or compliance requirements.

· Only narrow specialist recruitment experience with no ability to source across varied public sector roles.

· Strong business development experience but limited candidate delivery experience.

· Poor written communication, inaccurate records or weak compliance discipline.
