Accountant: Automations & Reporting

Job Advert Summary

Overall Job Purpose

Responsible for driving & supporting finance automation and reporting transformation within Group Finance through scalable system-based reporting solutions, ensuring accurate, timely and auditable outputs.

Minimum Requirements

Education:

• CA (SA) or relevant Finance, Accounting, or Information Systems degree (Honours)

Experience:

• Newly qualified or up to 2 years post-articles or
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a finance systems, reporting, automation, or data-focused environment
• Experience in reporting, finance systems or automation
• Experience with OneStream, Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar systems preferred
• Information Systems (Honours) with 3 years’ relevant experience will be considered
• Exposure to group consolidation and reporting environments (advantageous)
• Insurance industry experience (advantageous)

Knowledge and Skills:

• IFRS reporting knowledge
• Basic understanding of AI-enabled reporting and automation tools
• Experience using automation tools to improve efficiency (e.g. Power Platform, scripting)
• Data modelling and systems understanding
• Advanced Excel and analytics skills
• Automation and process optimisation
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Duties and Responsibilities

• Finance Automation & Systems Enablement

Design and implement automated reporting solutions in OneStream, Microsoft Dynamics

365 and related systems.

Develop and maintain data integration, mappings, and transformation logic.

Support continuous improvement of reporting architecture and data models.

Troubleshoot system issues impacting reporting outputs.

• Management & Statutory Reporting

Automate and maintain Group reporting outputs including income statement, KPIs, and

Board/Audit deliverables.

Ensure accuracy, completeness and audit readiness of financial reports.

Support statutory reporting processes and disclosures through automated solutions.

Improve reporting turnaround times and consistency.

• Data Integration & Architecture

Design and maintain data models supporting consolidated reporting.

Ensure seamless integration between source systems and reporting tools.

Maintain alignment between financial data structures and reporting requirements.

• Process Optimisation & Continuous Improvement

Identify inefficiencies in finance processes and implement automation solutions.

Replace manual/Excel-based processes with system-driven outputs.

Embed best practices for controls, audit trails and standardisation.

• Stakeholder Management & Business Partnering

Engage with Finance, IT and business stakeholders to define reporting requirements.

Translate business needs into technical solutions.

Provide user support, guidance and training on reporting tools.

• Project Delivery & Change Execution

Participate in finance transformation projects.

Contribute as a subject matter expert in reporting and automation.

Support Agile delivery through active participation.

Ensure integrity, completeness and accuracy of financial data across systems

Maintain reconciliations between source systems and reporting outputs
