Job Description
Job Purpose:
To ensure accurate preparation, collection, recording, and analysis of sales-related information to provide Premier Exports Sales Team with data-driven insights that support informed decisions, sustainable growth in margin, price and profitability, and shared customer success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering accurate and timely pricing, margin, and ad hoc analytical reports to the Exports Sales team.
- Establishing and maintaining commercial dealing parameters (base, cycle, and promotional pricing) through a strong understanding of cost drivers and margin expectations.
- Assisting with the preparation, review, and monitoring of budgets, including volume and margin forecasts.
- Monitoring and analysing all Selling and Distribution cost categories.
- Ensuring pricing structures and promotional activities are accurately maintained within the ERP system to prevent margin leakage.
- Reporting monthly on the margin impact of pricing claims and distributor claim-backs.
- Analysing low-margin products, customers, and channels, and providing recommendations to improve profitability.
- Developing a thorough understanding of the value chain and its impact on consumer shelf pricing.
- Providing EXCO and management teams with timely, accurate, and meaningful commercial performance insights.
- Delivering financial analysis at product, customer, and channel level to support strategic decision-making.
- Reviewing New Product Development (NPD) feasibility documents for financial accuracy and commercial viability.
- Provide financial expertise and analytical support for ad hoc commercial projects and business initiatives as required. Participate actively in Commercial Finance INVOCOM forums and team initiatives.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
- Share best practices and support cross-functional learning.
- Demonstrate collaboration, accountability, and commitment to team success.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships across functions.
- Engage professionally with internal and external stakeholders to support business objectives.
- Foster a collaborative and customer-focused approach in all interactions.
Qualification Requirements
- Data analytic Experience 3-5 years
Experience Requirements
- Management accountant or Cost Accountant with FMCG industry experience 3-5 years
- Experience within the FMCG industry (Sales & Marketing focus) 3-5 years
- Additional experience in a leadership or supervisory role 3-5 years
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting (Essential), Honours degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
