Accountant

Accountant Vacancy:

The successful candidate will be responsible for numbers, precision and teamwork. The job incumbent will be responsible for daily journal processing and review, ensuring the accuracy of site data, and collaborating closely with on-site managers to streamline accounting duties. This role will encompass everything from analysing financial trends and conducting internal reviews to reconciling creditor and debtor accounts. This position is based in Little Falls, Roodepoort.

Desired Experience & Qualification:

• South African Citizen.
• Minimum Bachelors degree in Accounting or Financial Management (equivalent or similar qualifications will be considered).
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial acumen.
• 2+ years of working experience (advantageous if in a financial and working environment).
• Commitment to continuous learning and sharpening of skills.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work to deadlines.
• Retail experience will be a strong advantage.
• Code 8 Drivers License.

Duties & Responsibilities:

· Process and review daily transactions (Income Statement and Balance Sheet).

· Analyse and review accuracy of site data and integrity of postings daily.

· Analyse, interpret and process wetstock performance records daily.

· Track and record all method of payments ("MOPS") daily.

· Accurate and timeous site performance audits.

· Monitor, research and report accounting discrepancies.

· Conduct internal revenue and expense reviews.

· Record estimated expense provisions daily in site management accounts.

· Accurately process revenue and/or expense accruals daily in site management accounts.

· Load supplier and ad-hoc payments on the bank.

· Process Balance Sheet journals in terms of financial accounting rules.

· Perform Suspense Account reconcilliations, investigate balances, and clear before finalising management accounts.

· Reconcile Creditor Accounts.

· Reconcile Debtors Control Account balance, with site aged debtors analysis or statements.

· Control Debtors and Creditors age analysis.
