Job description
Role Purpose:
The purpose of the Accountant role is to provide accurate, timely, and compliant financial support across the organisation. This includes managing financial transactions, preparing reports, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and ensuring adherence to financial policies and regulatory requirements. This role contributes to the financial health and operational efficiency of the business by delivering insights, maintaining financial integrity, and supporting strategic decision-making through reliable financial data and analysis.
Role Description
Operational Delivery
- Monitor expenditure and apply cost controls in line with delegated authority.
- Provide financial information and support to cross-functional stakeholders.
- Process and manage financial transactions, including liabilities, accruals, and allocations across business units.
- Provide administrative and analytical support for forecasting and financial optimisation activities.
People (Self, Team & Organisational)
- Promote a culture of innovation, agility, and employee empowerment within the finance department.
Financial, Reporting & Business Intelligence
- Manage financial costs while ensuring effective service delivery.
- Analyse financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Provide variance analysis and commentary to support decision - making.
Governance and Complaince
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, IFRS.
- Strengthen and monitor financial controls across processes.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks across functions.
Future-Fit
- Collaborate with audit teams to identify and resolve financial risks and reconciliation issues.
- Support the implementation and automation of financial systems and procedures.
- Ensure integration and effective workflow across business units.

- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in financial processes and technologies.
Qualifications and Experience
- BCom Finance, Commercial or equivalent – (essential)
- CA(SA) or equivalent professional qualification – (beneficial)
- 2-4 years' relevant accounting or finance experience.
- Exposure to budgeting, reporting, and month-end processes will be advantageous.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls, and reconciliations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel - intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel - (essential).
- Exposure to SAP (essential).
