Job description

Vacancy: Accountant

Location: Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), Eastern Cape
Position Type: Full-time, PermanentContracts

Key Performance Areas (Duties & Responsibilities)

Accounting Software: Manage daily data entry and financial records using Sage and Compmark Vantage.
Accounts Management: Process and oversee all accounts payable (creditors) and accounts receivable (debtors).
Reconciliations: Perform accurate monthly bank reconciliations and clear any outstanding discrepancies.
Ledger Maintenance: Assist with general ledger updates, prepare monthly journal entries, and ensure records are kept current.
Financial Reporting: Compile and organize supporting documentation to assist the team with monthly management reports.
Tax Compliance: Play an active role in calculating and processing VAT and SARS tax submissions.
Audit Preparation: Assist with gathering documentation and preparing schedules for the year-end financial audit.
OHS.
All dutiest related to MIBCO & the unions (Msa & Numsa)
Anything &/or instraucted to do b management.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

Education: Completed BCom Accounting degree, Advanced Diploma in Accounting, or equivalent financial qualification.
Experience: 0 to 2 years of experience in an accounting environment (entry-level candidates and graduates are highly encouraged to apply).
Software Competency: Practical exposure or working knowledge of Sage and Compmark Vantage is highly advantageous.

Pay: From R16 000,00 per month
