Role Description The Accountant will work on-site in Cape Town in a full-time capacity, supporting the company’s financial operations and reporting. Day-to-day responsibilities include processing invoices, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank and general ledger accounts, and preparing monthly financial statements. The role also involves assisting with budgeting, cash flow monitoring, cost analysis, and maintaining accurate financial records in accordance with relevant accounting standards. The Accountant will collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely financial information, support audits, and help optimize financial processes and controls. This role is suited to an individual who is detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and comfortable working in a dynamic, technology-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess solid financial accounting skills, including general ledger management, journal entries, and preparation of financial statements.
• Candidates should possess strong transactional accounting skills, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and bank reconciliations.
• Candidates should possess budgeting and analysis skills, including variance analysis, cost tracking, and cash flow monitoring.
• Candidates should possess proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel, including use of formulas, spreadsheets, and basic reporting tools.
• Candidates should possess knowledge of applicable accounting standards and basic tax principles relevant to South African businesses.
• Candidates should possess strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Candidates should possess effective communication and collaboration skills to work with finance colleagues, management, and other departments.
• A relevant qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (e.g., diploma or bachelor’s degree) is required; professional certification or progress toward one (e.g., SAIPA, SAICA) is an advantage.
• Prior experience in a similar accounting role, preferably within a technology, services, or distribution environment, will be beneficial.
