We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to manage and oversee financial transactions and reporting. In this role, you will focus on maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, making it an essential position within our finance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable standards
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoicing and payments
• Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial position
• Assist in the budgeting process and provide variance analysis to stakeholders
• Prepare tax returns and ensure compliance with local tax regulations
• Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entry preparation and account reconciliations
• Collaborate with internal teams to uphold financial integrity and provide financial insights
• Liaise with external auditors during financial audits and assist in the preparation of audit documentation

Requirements

• Relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Demonstrable experience in financial accounting, auditing, or related roles
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulatory requirements
• Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Pastel, QuickBooks, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional accounting certification (e.g., SAICA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Experience with financial reporting and data analysis
• Familiarity with ERP systems and advanced financial software
