Accountant

Onsite - based in Sandton

R30,000-R40,000 CTC per month (can be neg for right candidate)

About the Role

Our client is a fast-moving technology company at the forefront of digital experience, innovation, and intelligence-led solutions. As the business continues to scale, they're looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant to join their finance team, reporting directly to the Head of Finance.

What You'll Be Doing

Processing daily accounting transactions in Sage Accounting
Performing bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate records
Managing accounts payable and receivable
Preparing monthly management accounts
Handling month-end and year-end closing procedures
Preparing and submitting VAT, PAYE, UIF and SDL returns
Assisting with provisional tax and corporate income tax compliance
Reconciling balance sheet accounts and investigating discrepancies
Maintaining the fixed asset register
Ensuring compliance with South African accounting and tax regulations
Liaising with SARS, auditors, banks and external service providers
Supporting process improvements across the finance function

What You'll Need

Education

Matric/Grade
3-Year Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or similar

Experience

3–5 years' accounting experience in a similar role, ideally in a similar industry
Advanced Excel skills
Practical experience with Sage Accounting (essential)
Hands-on experience with SARS e-Filing and tax submissions (essential)
Advanced knowledge of VAT, PAYE, UIF, SDL and Corporate Income Tax

Skills

Strong grasp of South African accounting principles
Sharp attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Excellent written and verbal communication in English
Discretion with confidential information
Reliable, ethical, and able to work independently under pressure

Pay: R30 000,00 - R40 000,00 per month
