Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Accountant / Accounting Professional to join our finance team and play a key role in supporting the financial management, reporting, compliance, and operational effectiveness of multiple entities within the Group.

About the Role

The successful candidate will gain exposure across financial and management accounting, group reporting, budgeting and forecasting, treasury, taxation, internal controls, governance, systems, and process improvement initiatives.

The role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys both technical accounting and operational finance and is looking to broaden their experience within a dynamic group environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Management Accounting

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, interim, and annual financial reporting
• Perform detailed variance analysis and cost reporting
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
• Prepare board, executive, and management reporting packs
• Assist with group consolidations and multi-entity reporting

Accounting Operations

• Maintain accurate accounting records and reconciliations
• Oversee month-end and year-end accounting processes
• Manage fixed asset accounting and reporting
• Ensure accounting systems and data integrity are maintained
• Support process improvement and automation initiatives

Taxation & Compliance

• Prepare and review VAT, PAYE, and other tax submissions
• Assist with corporate tax compliance and reporting requirements
• Liaise with auditors and regulatory bodies
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies

Treasury & Cash Management

• Prepare cash flow forecasts and liquidity reports
• Monitor cash positions and working capital requirements
• Support treasury management and banking relationships
• Assist with foreign currency and funding-related reporting

Governance & Internal Controls

• Maintain and strengthen internal control frameworks
• Assist with risk management and compliance initiatives
• Identify process improvements and reporting efficiencies
• Support the implementation and monitoring of operational standards

Requirements

• Accounting degree (BCom / BAcc or BCompt)
• Majors in Financial Accounting / Management Accounting and Taxation preferred
• 2+ years relevant accounting experience
• Strong financial and management accounting skills
• Experience preparing management accounts and financial reports
• Working knowledge of taxation, budgeting, and cash flow management
• Experience working within multi-entity or group structures advantageous
• Strong Excel skills and systems aptitude
• High attention to detail and strong analytical ability
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Advantageous Experience

• Exposure to Sage X3, Pastel, CaseWare, MDA, or similar systems
• Experience dealing with external audits
• Experience within financial services, property, or group environments
