Accountant Officer

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our team based in Illovo. This opportunity is ideal for a recent graduate or someone with up to two years of accounting experience who is looking to build a solid foundation in finance and accounting.

Minimum Requirements

• BCom Degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification
• 0 - 2 years' accounting experience
• Strong understanding of accounting principles
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Key Responsibilities

• Cash book maintenance and daily bank reconciliations
• Management of creditor functions, including supplier reconciliations and payments
• Management of debtor functions, including collections and reconciliations
• Preparation of monthly creditor and debtor age analyses
• Reconciliation of payroll information to bank account payments
• Assisting with VAT reconciliations, returns, and payments
• Daily sales reconciliations across multiple stores
• Monthly petty cash reconciliations
• Assisting with balance sheet reconciliations
• Maintaining fixed asset records and reconciliations
• Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation
• Assisting with ad hoc finance projects and reporting requirements
