Accountant

Purpose of Role

Responsible for analysing, interpreting, and reporting financial information to support decision-making, ensuring compliance, and facilitating the financial health of an organization.

Context of Role

• Monthly management of accounts and dashboard;
• Annual income and provisional tax;
• Annual and provisional royalty tax;
• Annual financial statements and audit;
• Internal audit;
• Weekly cashflow / payments;
• Other reporting tasks;
• Monthly management accounts and dashboard;
• Generating financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, adhering to accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Recording financial transactions, maintaining accurate ledgers, and ensuring the integrity of financial data.
• Managing tax compliance, preparing and filing tax returns, and advising on tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities.
• Preparing for audits, collaborating with auditors, and ensuring internal controls and procedures are in place to safeguard assets and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
• Analyzing financial data, interpreting trends, and providing insights to support decision-making by management or stakeholders.
• Effectively communicating financial information to stakeholders, colleagues, and other departments within the organization.
• Utilizing and maintaining financial software and systems to manage and process financial data efficiently.
• Identifying and evaluating financial risks and implementing strategies to mitigate these risks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or Economics

Job Specific experience

• Accounting experience, including recent experience in a similar level role within a commercial and/or public practice environment;
• Computer literate (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.);
• Computer Literacy and Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced);
• Experience in ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 is advantageous).
