Accountant: V8 Group | Sandton, Gauteng
V8 Group is a growing collection of companies operating across marketing, digital services, ecommerce, and owned brands. We're looking for an Accountant to manage the financial operations and reporting across the group structure, ensuring accurate accounting, compliance, and consolidation across multiple entities.
This role is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented accountant who enjoys the full spectrum of accounting work and wants to grow into a financial leadership role as we scale.
What You'll Do
• Manage day-to-day accounting for multiple entities, including general ledger & journals, bank & credit card reconciliations, supplier payments & creditors, debtors & collections, and payroll inputs & processing oversight.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and ensure accurate month-end close across the group.
• Handle VAT, PAYE/EMP submissions and SARS compliance across relevant entities.
• Manage intercompany transactions, transfers, billing, and reconciliations.
• Assist with group consolidations, including elimination entries and consolidated reporting packs.
• Support budgeting & forecasting processes, working with business unit leaders to track performance.
• Prepare working papers for audits, reviews, and tax submissions, liaising with external auditors and tax practitioners.
• Improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting systems to support growth and efficiency.
Who You Are
• BCom Accounting degree (or equivalent) with professional registration or active membership; we're looking for a Professional Accountant (SA) registered with SAIPA, or a comparable designation such as ACCA or CIMA. *Please note: this role is not positioned for a CA(SA).
• 3–5 years of hands-on accounting experience; multi-entity experience is a strong advantage.
• Solid accounting fundamentals with strong month-end discipline.
• Confident with VAT, payroll compliance, and SARS submissions.
• Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets and accounting software (Xero, Sage, or similar).
• Accurate, structured, and able to manage competing deadlines without dropping the ball.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where you're expected to figure things out.
• Ambitious to grow into a Financial Controller or Finance Manager role over time.
