Job description
Accounting Manager
Snapshot of Curvion Blue
Curvion Blue is a high-performance RevOps and sales augmentation company that helps businesses build and operate better revenue engines. Behind every strong revenue operation is strong financial visibility, and that’s where our accounting team comes in.
We work with multiple businesses and clients, which means our accounting team operates in a multi-company environment. Our Accounting Managers aren't responsible for just one set of books, one leadership team, or one monthly close. They are managing multiple clients, priorities, deadlines, accounting systems, and stakeholders at the same time.
That environment requires more than strong accounting fundamentals. It requires organization, judgment, communication, ownership, and the ability to keep a lot of moving pieces moving in the right direction.
Position Overview
We’re looking for an Accounting Manager who can own the accounting function across multiple assigned clients while leading and developing Staff Accountants.
This is a hands-on accounting leadership role. You’ll oversee day-to-day accounting activity, review Staff Accountant work, manage month-end close, review financial statements, maintain accounting controls, identify issues, and work closely with Controllers to ensure they have accurate and reliable financial information.
Experience managing accounting for multiple companies at once is extremely important for this role.
The ideal candidate has worked in a fractional accounting, outsourced accounting, public accounting, CAS, accounting firm, or similar multi-client environment where managing several sets of books simultaneously was part of the normal workflow.
You should be comfortable jumping between different businesses, accounting systems, stakeholders, deadlines, and financial situations without losing the plot.
Basically: if you like one set of books, one close calendar, and one predictable workflow, this probably isn't your dream job.
You SHOULD Apply If
- You have experience managing accounting for multiple companies or clients simultaneously
- You have worked in a fractional, outsourced, public accounting, CAS, accounting firm, or agency environment
- You have strong full-cycle accounting experience and understand GAAP-based accrual accounting
- You have experience owning or managing month-end close
- You have experience reviewing the work of Staff Accountants, Bookkeepers, or other accounting professionals
- You can manage competing deadlines across multiple businesses without needing someone to constantly tell you what to do next
- You are highly organized and naturally keep track of outstanding items, deadlines, and follow-ups
- You are comfortable communicating with Controllers, leadership, clients, and accounting team members
- You can identify accounting issues before they become bigger problems
- You enjoy coaching and developing accounting professionals
- You naturally look for ways to improve processes rather than accepting "that's how we've always done it"
- You are comfortable working in multiple accounting systems and learning new tools quickly
- You take ownership when something goes wrong and focus on solving the problem rather than assigning blame
You SHOULD NOT Apply If
- Your experience has been exclusively within a single company's accounting department and you've never managed multiple companies or clients at once
- You need a highly predictable workload with one set of books and one consistent workflow
- You prefer purely transactional accounting and don't enjoy reviewing or developing other accountants
- You struggle to prioritize when multiple deadlines compete for your attention
- You tend to wait for someone else to identify accounting issues before addressing them
- You aren't comfortable communicating directly with Controllers, leadership, or clients
- You don't enjoy process improvement or building better ways of doing things
- You need significant oversight to stay organized and manage your workload
