Job Purpose

The Financial accountant is a key role within the Finance function of AM FRESH SA . The responsibility of the Financial Accountant is to ensure accurate and timeous reporting of the company’s management accounts on a monthly basis within the agreed timelines set by the Group and within the format that the Group requires. This role further includes the main contact person for the annual Financial audits as well as compilation of the annual Financial Statements.

Basic Qualifications

• Education: Relevant qualification – Financial degree a minimum
• Experience: Minimum 4-5 years Finance function experience and specific experience relating to AFS ( IFRS)

Job Requirements

• Ability to work to tight deadlines every week.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all internal teams as well as external service providers.
• Applicant must be computer literate and be able to communicate effectively via email and telephone
• Need to be fluent in Afrikaans and English
• Key understanding of the Statutory requirements and relevant accounting experience.
• Ability to assess and change or improve current processes.

Key Functions and Expected Performance

Responsible for the monthly and annual closing process which would cover:

• General Ledger integrity
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Intercompany accounting
• Revenue and expense validation
• Group Reporting Packages
• Accounting and statutory compliance
• Ownership of Tax obligations and Filings (VAT / Corporate Tax / Transfer Pricing)
• Compilation of the Group’s annual Subsidiary reporting package within the deadlines set by the Group.
• Key contact for implementation of new Group reporting initiatives relating to Financial Accounting practices.
• RSA Treasury responsibility – Ensuring FM is up to date with current and 6 month CF requirements as well as main day to day contact with the bank.
• Ensure Cashflow forecast is within the Group’s format and submitted on a regular basis
• Assisting the FM in compiling the Bi-monthly Full year Forecasts for the RSA entities.
• Assisting FM in annual Budget preparation covering P&L / Balance Sheet and Cashflow
• Integral part of new ERP reporting system implementation team focussing and leading the ERP/financial systems implementation, specifically the reporting tools.
