Logistics and supply-chain roles coordinate the movement of goods across SA, a sector expanding fast with e-commerce.

Job description

This is such an exciting role! Brand new!

Our client is on a mission to end the debt trap for millions of employees across South Africa and they're looking for an Activation Lead to own the moment that makes or breaks that mission: the point where a new employer client goes live and their workforce either builds the habit, or doesn't.

You'll own the full employee activation journey for every new employer client — from the handover out of implementation, through an activation sprint, to the point where the Relationship Manager takes over the ongoing relationship.
This is not a marketing role and it's not client service. It's the operational engine room of activation: the people, the scheduling, the comms, the training, the numbers and the follow-through to make sure none of it falls through the cracks.

Who We're Looking For

This role doesn't exist yet, therefore you will be pivotal in building it while running it (with the Head of Growth's support). You're data-led, proactive, and you close loops without being chased.

You'll thrive here if you:

  • Are relentlessly organised – nothing slips
  • Can run a briefing with 50-line managers one day and write a WhatsApp template the next
  • Are comfortable building the playbook as you go
  • Care about the mission – every registration is a real step toward someone's financial stability
  • Collaborate naturally across teams, without ego or territory
  • Read your own numbers and act before being asked
  • Want to be hands-on, i.e on-site visits, virtual sessions, boots on the ground, etc

Experience That Helps

  • Client-facing work where engagement was the core success metric
  • Onboarding, change management, internal comms, or field activation
  • CRM/PM tools (Monday.com, Salesforce or similar)
  • Experience with large employer environments – retail, logistics, manufacturing or similar deskless workforces
  • An understanding of the SA workforce and the financial pressures facing low-to-middle income employees

What You'll Be Doing

Activation planning & execution

  • Own the end-to-end employee activation process for every new client
  • Build and manage the activation comms calendar (WhatsApp, SMS, posters, payslip messaging, in-app prompts)
  • Run manager buy-in sessions and employee training — scheduling, facilitation, attendance tracking and follow-up
  • Design incentive mechanics to drive first registration and first transaction
  • Track daily registration and activation numbers per client and department
  • Spot underperforming clients or departments early and step in

Client relationship

  • Build a strong working relationship with each employer's HR/comms champion during the activation window
  • Be the go-to contact for employee communications (
  • Join Day 60 and Day 90 review sessions

Reporting & impact

  • Produce the Day 90 impact snapshot per client: registrations, activations, usage, department breakdown
  • Keep the activation tracker (Monday.com) live and accurate
  • Share weekly numbers with the Head of Growth every Monday
  • Flag churn risk early — low activation, disengaged champions, technical blockers

Content & comms collaboration

  • Partner with the marketing team: they lead content strategy, you lead deployment and execution
  • Feed field data back into the comms strategy
  • Coordinate with Implementation on the pre-go-live comms kit and readiness checklist

Nice to Have

  • Fintech, financial wellness, or EWA experience
  • Experience building a function from scratch
  • WhatsApp-based comms at scale experience

What's on Offer

  • A genuinely new role with real ownership
  • A mission-led business with real commercial stakes
  • Direct access to the Head of Growth, in a team that moves fast
  • Competitive salary, commensurate with experience

If this sounds like you, please apply and let’s have a conversation.

Pay: R50 000,00 - R60 000,00 per month
