Actuarial Analyst (Life Insurance)

Purpose of position:

Support actuarial reporting and decision-making through data analysis, reserve calculations, regulatory capital assessments, investment product reporting, and actuarial model maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Reconciliation and analysis of investment product and policy data
• Analysis of product performance, fund flows, and policyholder behaviour (premiums, withdrawals, persistency)
• Assist with the design, development, and testing of new investment products and product enhancements
• Support actuarial reporting on investment products to management and relevant committees
• Provide support to management in the calculation of actuarial reserves
• Complete tasks related to the calculation of the regulatory capital requirement
• Assist with actuarial model development
• Maintain and run the actuarial experience investigation process

Requirements

• Matric (essential)
• BSc Actuarial Science or BCom Actuarial Science (required)
• 1-4 years’ relevant experience
• Candidates with 0 to 3 year’s relevant experience will be considered
• Experience with Prophet (preferable), SQL and MS Office
• Exam progress:
• Completed: A111 – A113, A211 – A214, A311, N111 and N211
• Beneficial: F105, another F100 and F200
