Job description
Job Purpose
The Department of Police Oversight and Community Safety, Western Cape Government (WCG) has 2 (two) exciting employment opportunities for suitable individuals to render administrative support services to the component for the enhancement and promotion of Community Police Relations.

A grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification).

Key Performance Areas
Render general clerical support services for the sub-directorate: Record, organise, store, capture and retrieve correspondence and data (line function), update registers and statistics; Provide supply chain clerical support services within the component: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in relation to procurement of goods and services, obtain quotations and complete procurement forms for the purchasing of inventory; Provide personnel administration clerical support services within the component: Keep and maintain a leave and attendance registers for the component, keep and maintain personnel records in the component; Provide financial administration support services in the component: Liaise with stakeholders to receive and review Community Safety Partnership Funding (CSPF) reports and payments, process CSPF payments.
Competencies
Knowledge of the following: Clerical duties, practices as well as the ability to capture data, operate computer and collecting statistics; Understanding of the legislative framework governing the Public Service; Working procedures in terms of the working environment; Skills needed: Computer Literacy; Planning and organisation; Good verbal and written communication; Interpersonal relations; Flexibility and Teamwork.
Remuneration
R 237 453 – R 279 708 perannum (Salary level 5).
Note on remuneration in addition service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees(medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
Notes
Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit documentation for verification purposes and criminal record vetting. These candidates will be required to complete a practical assessment and attend interviews on a date and time determined by the department and may also be required to undergo competency assessments/proficiency tests.The selection process will be guided by the EE targets of the employing department.
