GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT - LAW FIRM - CAPE TOWN CBD
ONLY CANDIDATES BASED IN CAPE TOWN TO APPLY
Hannes Gouws & Partners Inc is seeking to appoint a well-presented, personable and highly organised General Administrative Assistant for its Cape Town offices.
This is a full-time position ideally suited to a candidate who enjoys being the first point of contact for clients and visitors, and who can competently support the broader office with day-to-day administrative functions.
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric certificate (essential); a relevant administrative or secretarial qualification will be an added advantage;
- Stable employment history;
- Previous experience in a general administrative role, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment;
- Experience to include:
o Professionally answering, screening and directing incoming calls;
o Welcoming and assisting clients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner;
o Managing the boardroom diary and coordinating meeting room bookings;
o Receiving, sorting and distributing incoming mail, deliveries and courier items;
o Managing outgoing correspondence, courier and postage arrangements;
o General filing, scanning, photocopying and document management;
o Ordering and managing stationery and office supplies;
o Providing administrative support to attorneys and support staff as required;
o Experience working on:
▪ Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel);
▪ Switchboard / telephone systems;
Key Competencies:
- Ability to support senior attorney as head of office;
- Well-spoken, professional and presentable;
- Strong administrative and organisational skills;
- Excellent telephone etiquette and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to multitask and prioritise under pressure;
- Excellent attention to detail;
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently with minimal supervision;
- Good personal relationships and a professional, client-focused attitude.
Salary: Market related commensurate with experience.

Position type: Full-Time
