We are looking for an Administrative Coordinator (Occupational Health and Safety) to join our dynamic and dedicated team. The ideal incumbent should be professional, proactive, detail driven and safety conscious.
The Administrative Coordinator (Occupational Health and Safety) will provide structured administrative, coordination, and compliance support to the Health and Safety function by ensuring that all safety systems, documentation, and processes are effectively implemented, maintained, and continuously improved in alignment with legislative requirements and organizational standards. The role acts as a central control point for safety governance, facilitating communication between operational teams, management, and regulatory bodies while driving a proactive safety culture.

What You'll Do
SHEQ Management and Compliance
· Maintain and continuously improve the SHEQ Management System, including policies, procedures, registers, and ISO documentation
· Ensure compliance with applicable legislation (OHS Act, Construction Regulations, Asbestos Regulations, HCS Regulations, COIDA, NEMA, SANS Standards)
· Support implementation of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 systems across sites
· Manage document control processes (version control, distribution, and archiving)
· Support internal and external audits, including Department of labour inspections
Risk Management and Incident Control
· Manage incident reporting, COID processes, and maintain incident registers
· Track corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) through to closure
· Compile and present monthly SHE reports and statistical trends
Operational Safety and Site Coordination
· Coordinate Permit-to-Work systems (issuance, tracking, and compliance)
· Assist with procurement and management of PPE and safety equipment
· Monitor waste management practices in line with environmental requirements
Training, Culture and Communication
· Coordinate safety training programmes and competency tracking
· Facilitate SHE Committee meetings, management reviews, and prepare minutes
· Communicate safety alerts, updates, and legislative changes across the organization
· Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety performance and achieve zero harm objectives (including LTIFR targets)
Emergency Preparedness and Continuous Improvement
· Identify, develop, and implement SHEQ improvement initiatives
· Support event safety planning and execution where required
Core Competencies and Skills
· SHEQ system implementation and management

· Waste and environmental management (NEMA compliance)
· Legislative compliance and interpretation
· Strong reporting, administrative, and presentation skills
· Proficiency in Microsoft office suite
· Time management and ability to work under pressure
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
· Attention to detail and ability to work independently ability to interpret legislation and translate into practical site controls
· Strong capability in managing safety management systems and documentation
· Ability to manage multiple compliance streams (training, medicals, permits, audits)
· Effective coordination of site safety operations and stakeholder engagement
· Data-driven approach to safety performance and continuous improvement
· Clear written and verbal communication across all organizational levels
What You’ll Need
· Grade 12 / Matric / NQF Level 4 Equivalent Qualification (required)
· Diploma or Degree in Safety Management or related field (advantageous)
· Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a similar SHEQ role
· Working knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 (ISO 31000 and ISO 22000 advantageous)
· Confident managing service standards and controls under pressure.
· A clear criminal record.
