Job description

Job Purpose

The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport, Western Cape Government, has an opportunity for a competent individual to provide administrative support to the Component Cultural Services in executing it’s mandate of preservation, promotion and development of culture in the Western Cape.

Minimum Requirements

An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification) A minimum of 1-year relevant experience. A valid Code B (or higher) driving licence.

Key Performance Areas

Render administrative support to the cultural facilities; Oversee the maintenance and upgrades at cultural facilities; Provide financial management support to the cultural facilities; Perform supervisory functions.

Competencies

Ability to capture and analyses data; Excellent people skills; Writing and Reporting; Planning and Organising; Following Instructions and Procedures in terms of the working environment. Financial management in line with all financial prescripts; presentation skills; communication skills; knowledge, understanding and technical experience in technology and computer skills.

Remuneration

R 338 106- R 398 277 per annum (Salary level 7)

Note on remuneration in addition service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.

Notes

Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend interviews on a date and time determined by the department and submit documentation for verification purposes and criminal record vetting. All shortlisted candidates shall undertake two pre-entry assessments. One will be a practical exercise to determine a candidate’s suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements and the other must be an integrity (ethical conduct) assessment. The selection process will be guided by the EE targets of the employing department.
