Role Clarification & Key Performance Areas Students are the heartbeat of the University of the Western Cape. The Student Enrolment Management Unit (SEMU) is responsible for, among other things, recruiting new students to the University and for assisting prospective students to make informed choices about future study opportunities at UWC. To this end, we invite skilled, committed and people-oriented persons to apply for this administrator position.
Reporting to the Director of the Student Enrolment Management Unit, the successful applicant will be responsible for the following areas:
- Administrative support to the Director and the Unit
- Secretarial support to the Director and the Unit
- General office and financial administration
- Information administration
- Promotional events administration and coordination such as school visits, career exhibitions and other recruitment and career advising activities
- Enquiries management: respond to inquiries (verbal, written, telephonic or digital) with respect to degree offerings, applications, selections, among others
- Incoming and outgoing communication
- Updating and maintenance of web pages and social media platform
- Coordinate Unit and Institutional events
- Coordinate Unit projects
Minimum Requirements Minimum Requirements (Qualification and Experience)
- A relevant National Diploma qualification at an NQF Level 6 or an Equivalent Qualification.
- A minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience in a higher education environment, and possess strong digital literacy capability.
- Willingness for out of town travel
Required Competencies (skills, Knowledge And Behavioural Attributes)
- Excellent Communication skills (Verbal and Written)
- Proficiency with digital media
- Excellent Planning and organizing skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Committed to an ethos of collaboration, teamwork and excellence at the Unit
