Agribusiness Intern

The Agribusiness Intern is responsible for supporting the day to day operations of AgriScience Institute. The successful candidate will assist with agricultural training, student support, farm operations, agricultural business development, recruitment activities and administrative functions while gaining practical experience in commercial agriculture and agribusiness management.

This internship is designed to develop future agricultural professionals through practical exposure to farming, education, agribusiness and project management within the iSHEQ Group.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with coordinating theory and practical agricultural training for students.
• Support crop and livestock production activities.
• Assist with student recruitment and responding to prospective student enquiries.
• Support farm planning, record keeping and production monitoring.
• Assist with harvesting, grading, packing and marketing of agricultural produce.
• Coordinate agricultural demonstrations and practical learning activities.
• Assist with agricultural projects and business development initiatives.
• Provide administrative support where required.
• Assist with preparing agricultural reports, learner documentation and project records.
• Promote AgriScience Institute programmes and services.
• Maintain accurate records of farm activities and student participation.
• Perform any other reasonable duties assigned by management.

Minimum Requirements

• Qualification in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Plant Production, Animal Production, Agricultural Extension or a related field.
• Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Office 365.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors.
• Passion for agriculture and agricultural education.

Preferred Requirements

• Valid South African driver's licence.
• Own reliable transport will be an advantage.
• Ability to communicate in English and one or more South African languages.
• Practical farming experience will be an advantage.
• Good organisational and interpersonal skills.

Remuneration

• Monthly Stipend: R4,000.00
• Eligible to participate in the iSHEQ Group's performance based commission programme in accordance with the company's commission policy.

Pay: From R4 000,00 per month
