Application Criteria

• B.Com, B.Bus.Sci, B.Sc or B.Eng in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics or Finance with strong quantitative or programming components.
• Coursework, projects or certifications in machine learning, statistics, financial modelling or data engineering advantageous.
• Open to other tertiary qualifications depending on experience and evidence of quantitative abilities.

Experience

• 1-3 years experience in using AI tools, LLM-based workflows, automation or coding projects, including self-initiated learning and personal projects (advantageous).
• Has had experience in implementing an AI enabled project and is easily demonstrable.
• Any exposure to investment, risk or performance data, whether through coursework, internships or own projects, is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with SQL and cloud data platforms such as Databricks is advantageous, though training will be provided.

Purpose of Job

Support the Investment Analytics Team in identifying, implementing and managing AI-enabled solutions that improve the speed, accuracy and scalability of our risk and performance reporting - spanning portfolio performance and attribution analysis, risk analytics, mandate and regulatory compliance monitoring, and the data flows and operational processes that support them.

Contribute to AI and automation initiatives elsewhere in the business as required.

Monthly/Daily Tasks

• Support the team in relevant AI initiatives.
• Work with the team to understand their processes and consider how they can be improved.
• Keep up to date with AI, automation, and technology advancements, and identify opportunities to implement them in our processes to improve efficiency.

Develop AI agents, automated workflows, dashboards and tools using LLMs and current prompting and orchestration techniques* applied to reporting production, data validation, commentary drafting and client deliverables. Working across our core stack: Databricks (our central data platform), SQL, Python, Power BI and Excel (VBA/Power Query), alongside other technologies as needed.

• Analyse business processes to determine problems, risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Build checks and controls into automated processes, and test AI-generated output against known-good results before it reaches a client.
• Help improve the quality, consistency and lineage of the portfolio, benchmark and market data held in our Databricks environment and feeding our reporting.
• Manage our automation and efficiencies task list.
• Collaborate with teams to map, document, and improve core processes and data flows.
• Translate investment, risk and client reporting requirements into clear technical and functional specifications, and document the solutions built so others can maintain them.
