Who we are

We're a UK cleaning and waste removal company. We look after around 300 buildings across London and the South East, with vans and crews out every day. We're small, we move fast, and we're run by the owner, not a management team.

The job

Right now our business runs on Jobber, Xero and a lot of spreadsheets. We want to build our own tools instead — simpler, cheaper, and built exactly around how we actually work.

I've already started building these myself using AI tools. I'm looking for someone who can do the same thing but better and faster than me, and do it full-time.

What you'd build

Working through these one at a time:

• A staff app — where our crew book holiday, report sickness, and where we log good work and warnings
• A van app — tracking servicing, MOTs, repairs, and letting drivers report faults from their phone
• A job report app — crews take photos on site and the report goes to the client automatically
• A scheduling app — who's going where, on what day, on repeat
• One central system — all our sites, clients and jobs in one place, with invoices going straight into Xero

Everything gets used in the business immediately. You'll see what you build being used by real people the same week.

What we're looking for

• You've built working apps or systems using AI tools — Claude, Cursor, Lovable, Replit, or similar
• You're comfortable with tools like Airtable, Supabase, n8n, Make or Zapier
• You've connected apps together before using APIs
• You can look at a messy real-world process and turn it into something simple that works
• Good written English — you'll be talking to me every day
• You get on with things without being chased

What we're not looking for

• A computer science degree
• Ten years at a software company
• Someone who needs a spec written for them

If you've taught yourself, built things that people actually use, and you're faster with AI tools than most developers are without them — you're exactly who we want.

How we work

• Fully remote, full-time
• You report straight to me, the owner. No meetings, no committees.
• We pick one thing, build it, use it, then move to the next
• Some overlap with UK hours so we can talk

Pay

$400 – $1,000 per month depending on experience, paid monthly. Long-term role with the rate rising as you prove yourself. First month is a paid trial for both of us.

• How you built it. Which tools, and roughly how long it took.
• One question: we send around 200 invoices a month and they need to end up in Xero without anyone typing them twice. How would you approach that, and what would you be careful about?
