ALUMINIUM TECHNICIAN

SALARY: MARKET RELATED (NEGOTIABLE)

Purpose: The Aluminium Technician is responsible for the fabrication, installation, repair, and maintenance of aluminium windows, doors, shopfronts, curtain walls, glazing systems, and related building components. The successful candidate will ensure that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards**.**

Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12 (Matric).

Relevant qualification or trade certificate in Aluminium Fabrication, Glazing, Carpentry, or a related field will be an advantage.

Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in aluminium fabrication and installation.

Experience in glazing installations and repairs.

Ability to read technical drawings and measurements accurately.

Valid driver's licence will be an advantage.

Medically fit to work at heights and on construction sites.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

· Fabricating aluminium windows, doors, shopfronts, partitions, and curtain wall systems.

· Installing aluminium products at client sites.

· Measuring, cutting, assembling, and fitting aluminium sections.

· Installing and replacing various types of glass, including float, laminated, toughened, and insulated glazing.

· Installing glazing beads, rubber gaskets, silicone sealants, and associated hardware.

· Repairing damaged aluminium frames and glazing systems.

· Performing routine maintenance and emergency repairs.

· Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.

· Conducting site measurements before fabrication and installation.

· Ensuring all installations comply with project specifications and quality standards.

· Operating hand tools, power tools, cutting equipment, and fabrication machinery safely.

· Maintaining a clean and organised work area.

· Completing job cards, inspection reports, and maintenance records.

· Reporting defects, safety hazards, and material shortages to the supervisor.

· Providing excellent customer service while working on client premises.

· Adhering to all Occupational Health and Safety requirements.

· Assisting with loading, transporting, and unloading materials and equipment.

· Working overtime and travelling to project sites when required.
