About the Moshal Program
The Moshal Program is a global movement that opens the door to higher education and meaningful careers for thousands of ambitious young people from under-resourced backgrounds. We believe that talent is everywhere, but opportunity isn’t — so we do something about it. To learn more about the program, visit – www.moshalprogram.org.za
Our alumni community is one of our greatest assets: a growing network of driven, inspiring humans who carry the Moshal spirit with them into every corner of their careers and communities and we’re looking for someone to help that community truly thrive.
About the Role
As Alumni Coordinator, you’ll be the connection between Moshal and its ever-growing alumni community. You’ll organize events people actually want to attend, keep our data clean, and find creative ways to keep alumni engaged, inspired, and giving back.
This role sits at the intersection of community building, event management, and relationship-driven coordination. If you’re a natural connector who gets a buzz from seeing people come together — this one’s for you.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Events, Community Activations & Logistics
o Own the end-to-end delivery of alumni events and community activations — from venue scouting and supplier negotiations to day-of execution and post-event wrap-up. Liaise with external partners to ensure continuity in how alumni pay it forward
o Overseeing budgets, timelines, and resources with precision, and liaise with external suppliers, schools, universities, etc.
o Collaborate with the Alumni Community Manager to deliver event concepts that keep alumni engaged and paying it forward.
- Community & Relationships
o Build and nurture genuine relationships with alumni, current students, and internal team members.
o Provide warm, responsive support to alumni for queries, community activations, and general communications.
o Partner with the Alumni Community Manager to develop new initiatives, support student training programmes, and facilitate meaningful alumni involvement across Moshal events.
- Administration & Data
o Keep our CRM systems accurate and up to date — contact details, employment history, engagement records, and more. Good data is the backbone of a great community.
o Handle financial admin including processing invoices, reconciling budgets, and tracking spend.
What We’re Looking For
Must-haves
· 2–4 years of experience in a similar coordination or community-facing role (higher education, NGO/NPO, events, or admin — we’re flexible on the setting).
· Excellent organizational skills and a high attention to detail — you’re the person who notices when something’s off before anyone else does.
· Strong interpersonal communication skills, both one-on-one and in group settings, with the ability to motivate and move people to action.
· Proactive mindset, creative and critical thinking, and the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-moving environment.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and experience with CRM or database software (e.g. Salesforce).
· Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel regionally when needed.
· Based in Gauteng
Nice-to-haves
· A diploma or degree in Administration, Social Science, Marketing, or a related field.
· A genuine connection to social impact, education, or youth development — you don’t just want a job; you want this job.

· A full-time remote role with real flexibility.
· The chance to work for an organization with genuine purpose — and to see your work make a tangible difference in people’s lives.
· Ongoing learning, professional development, and the opportunity to grow within a globally-connected team.
· Local travel to events and activations across South Africa.
· A team that actually lives its values: energetic, warm and ambitious
