Job Description

This role is responsible for delivering effective credit reporting, insights, and analytics for an allocated Vehicle Asset Finance (VAF) retail portfolio. The objective is to support informed business decision-making and enable the development and execution of relevant credit strategies.

The incumbent will design, enhance, and implement account management strategies, with a focus on pre-scoring of customers, takeover strategies, and continuous portfolio risk assessment. A key aspect of the role includes driving automation of production reports and implementing system and process improvements to support strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

Business Requirements & Analytics

Analyse and prioritise business reporting and data requests.

Deliver accurate and meaningful management information (MIS).

Provide in-depth credit insights to guide strategy and decision-making.

Develop and enhance reporting solutions using business intelligence tools.

Design credit decision-making processes through advanced data analysis.

Data Integrity & Process Assurance

Ensure data accuracy through validation, reconciliation, and quality checks.

Guide analysts in data extraction, manipulation, and reporting processes.

Develop and maintain data monitoring frameworks to identify and resolve errors.

Interpret large, complex datasets into actionable insights.

Develop SAS code and drive automation of reporting processes.

Stakeholder Management

Communicate proactively with stakeholders on reporting delivery and timelines.

Negotiate and manage expectations on new and ongoing requirements.

Collaborate with operational partners to improve processes and outcomes.

Strategy Development & Reporting

Support the development and optimisation of acquisition and account management strategies.

Monitor and evaluate strategy performance through cost-benefit analysis.

Engage stakeholders on scorecard-driven strategy enhancements.

People Management & Knowledge Sharing

Manage and develop a team of analysts to deliver on objectives.

Identify and support development opportunities for team members.

Share best practices in analytics, data interpretation, and coding.

Address team performance, including disciplinary and grievance processes where required.

Performance Measures

Delivery of accurate and timely reporting.

Effectiveness of acquisition and account management strategies.

Quality and impact of insights provided.

Continuous improvement in reporting and analytics processes.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematical Sciences, IT, or Computer Science.

5–7 years’ experience in credit analytics within a banking environment, with a focus on the credit lifecycle.

Strong experience in data analysis, reporting, and credit risk management.

Preferred Qualifications:

Honours Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Project Management.

BSc in Statistics, Actuarial Science, or Financial Engineering.

Experience in Vehicle Asset Finance (VAF) is advantageous.

Technical Skills:

Advanced SAS development and coding.

Strong technical report writing capabilities.

Experience in developing data-driven strategies.

Proficiency in data visualisation and business intelligence tools.
