Job Purpose

To manage the relationship between Engen and the dealer by ensuring compliance to Retail brand standards and performance optimisation for increased profit and market share.

What you've done before

Baseline:

  • NQF Level 7 (Degree in Marketing / Sales / Finance / Engineering) Valid driver's license (Code 8)
  • 5+ years' experience in any of these fields - Retail / Fuels Sales & Marketing / Project Management

Advantageous:

  • Oil & Gas Industry experience FMCG / Operations experience
  • Relationship/ Stakeholder Management experience

What You'll Be Doing & Key Accountabilities

FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE:

  • Drive profitability of all retail sites in the allocated sales area by implementing regional growth initiatives.
  • Ensure all site-related expenses are debited and credited i.e. Rates &Taxes, Dealer billings.
  • Manage income and turnover growth: Forecourt, Shop, and all other APOs.
  • Manage and collect agreed RAS debits for sites.
  • Monitor sales and purchases for discrepancies per site in your allocated area.

CUSTOMER SUPPORT:

  • Drive the implementation of the One Way program to superior service at site level, resulting in improved Net-Promoter Scores (NPS), Mystery Shopper scores and better customer experience overall.
  • Add value to the Dealer's business through well planned call cycles and result driven dealer meetings.
  • Apply understanding of the Network/Site operations to close gaps and offers solutions.
  • Analyse results, discuss and rectify gaps with dealer.
  • Build relationships with Dealers and resolve identified issues.
  • Ensure Dealer and Site staff are trained according to Engen's training plan.
  • Conduct night visits to monitor and ensure consistency of the customer experience at night.

BUSINESS PROCESSES:

  • Compile and implement Site specific business plans.
  • Achieve Regional operational targets on the Retail Efficiency Standards categories.
  • Manage forecourt and convenience stock outs.
  • Drive the implementation of new concepts and promotions
  • Address audit findings and ensure no repeats.
  • Plan and utilise assets for maximum ROI.

HSEQ COMPLIANCE:

  • Ensure compliance and implementation with Engen and legislation requirements, standards and practices at-site level.
  • Ensure compliance with HSEQ RSD requirements.
  • Ensure dealers are trained and understand applicable HSEQ legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Reporting of Incident Management.
  • Partake in all HSEQ initiatives.
  • Manage SIAM fails, inconclusive and NO DATA sites

DEALER PERFORMANCE:

  • Manage and turn around all allocated underperforming sites/ dealers through direct participation, involvement and implementation of turnaround strategies to ensure Retail business performance within designated areas, thereby growing the number of A&B sites on the Dealer Performance Dashboard and reducing the number of C&D sites.
  • Monitor and manage dealer compliance to Engen Operating Standards through the following compliance checks: RSD Brand 23, Convenience checks.
  • Conduct relevant HSEQ checks to uphold compliance and safety

Working Conditions

Conduct night visits to monitor and ensure consistency of the customer experience

Travelling within SA which includes overnight stay (often for more than 1 day)

Flexible hours performing field work, which includes calls throughout the day (7 days a week)
