Area Manager (Field Operations) – National Retail Partners

Own a region, build partner relationships, and keep our retail rental service humming across South Africa. If you’re a hands-on operator who loves the road, solves problems fast, and can drive sales while getting your hands a little dirty, this is for you.

What you’ll do

• Visit and support a set list of partner retail stores daily; audit standards and train store staff.
• Troubleshoot and perform light technical repairs on rental machines (full training provided).
• Manage stock, signage, and assets; ensure accurate logs on our tablet/app.
• Grow revenue via merchandising, upsell, and promotions; hit monthly targets.
• Keep a clean, compliant company van (fuel card provided); maintain basic vehicle checks.
• Travel: ~25–30% monthly away travel.

Must-haves (applications without these won’t be considered)

• 2+ years in field operations / area management / merchandiser-supervisor role in retail, FMCG, or services.
• Valid SA driver’s license and sober habits; comfortable driving long distances.
• Technical aptitude (small appliance/mechanical troubleshooting).
• Comfort with tablets/apps for routing, logging, photos, and reporting.
• Availability Monday–Saturday; no leave over Easter and December (peak trading).
• Willingness to travel (sleep-outs) ± 25%.

This is not a store cashier/packer role. It’s a field-based operational position with driving, light technical work, and store relationship management. Nice to have:

• Small appliance repair experience | Retail merchandising | New store onboarding | Sales KPI ownership.
