Job description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist Millwrights and Boilermakers with conveyor maintenance, belt work, and structure move activities
- Support with slacking, tensioning, cutting, clamping, and alignment of conveyor belts
- Assist with lifting, positioning, and securing of conveyor structures and components
- Perform general mechanical and structural support tasks as directed
- Handle and prepare tools, consumables, and materials for daily tasks
- Maintain a clean and organised work area and perform housekeeping duties
- Participate in night-shift operations during critical activities (e.g., S-curve travel during moves)
- Follow all instructions from supervisors and senior tradesmen accurately and safely
- Comply with all mine health and safety standards, including red permit area and gas area protocols
- Report any unsafe conditions, defects, or incidents immediately
REQUIREMENTS
- Trade-related qualification or proven experience as an Artisan environments
- Minimum 2–3 years relevant hands-on experience in mining, construction, or industrial maintenance
- Valid driver’s licence (advantageous)
- Ability and willingness to work shifts, including night shifts during critical project phases
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to safety
- Good communication and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks in outdoor mining conditions
ADVANTAGEOUS
- Previous experience on conveyor moves, extensions, or mining shutdown/maintenance projects
- Basic rigging or operating certificates
