Requirements

• Trade Test Certificate
• Petrol, Diesel, Earth Moving or Equivalent Mechanic Trade

Certificate will be advantageous

• One (1) to two (2) years’ relevant experience in fleet

maintenance workshop

• Be physically able to carry out all requirements of the post
• A valid Code 10/C1 driver’s licence with a valid PrDP
• Applicants will be required to undergo Risk Driving Assessment.

Key Performance Areas

• Provide an inspection and testing service to the workshop for

vehicles, plant, equipment and fixed installations.

• Fault-finding, testing, and repairing activities of all such assets

to ensure that functionality is restored with minimal disruption

to services

• Complete internal transactional documentation, such as time

sheets, log sheets and vehicle checklists

• Provide planned and predictive maintenance activities

associated with specific functional areas such as building

mechanical and electrical maintenance

• Provide inspection and testing service- to the workshop for

vehicles, plant, equipment and fixed installations to establish

the extent of damage

• Provide labour to effect service and repairs for vehicles or

plant

• Assemble mechanical components for reinstallation of vehicle

or plant machine

• Attend to field services/repairs as well as on site breakdowns
• Maintain safe work standards as per the Occupational Health

and Safety Act

• Assist in training and mentoring of junior staff.
