Artisan: Diesel Mechanic | Fast n Fresh

Job Context

The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and servicing of trucks, trailers and ancillary equipment.

Key performance areas:

• Repairing, maintenance and servicing of trucks and trailers.
• Examine trailers and trucks, identify defects and repair all defects.
• Conduct quality checks on repaired Trailers and trucks to ensure Standards are maintained
• Attend to breakdowns as and when necessary; work standby and shifts on a rotation basis
• Examine and diagnose defects correctly and take appropriate corrective action
• Monthly Stock takes
• Ordering and capturing of parts on Freeway system
• Adhere to company policies & procedures, HSSEQ, housekeeping and customer standards at all times.
• Perform preventative maintenance
• Ensure appearance of vehicles and trailers conforms to company standards

Qualifications required:

• Qualified Diesel Mechanic

Skills and Experience required:

• Minimum of 1 years’ related experience.
• Willing and able to work long hours and do standby duties as and when required
• Problem solving skills and analytical ability
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Must have reliable transport
• The applicant must have a valid Code B driver’s license, but a code EC with PDP will be preferred
