Job Description
Purpose of the job:
To maintain the overall effectiveness of equipment and packing equipment on sites. Including electrical and mechanical support
Responsibilities:
Safety management:
Adhering to all PPE, safety requirements, safe operating procedures and work instructions. Attending of safety training and committee meetings, induction, medical examinations, and safety talks.
Maintenance Support:
- Completion of all electrical/mechanical breakdown.
- Planned and preventative maintenance duties.
- Preventative inspections (Infrared Scanning, bearing temperature) and reporting defects on machines.
- Installation of new equipment and ability to interpreted electrical drawings, a must.
Maintenance Management:
- Maintaining availability of the packaging machines and execution of task according to standards. Controlling of job execution times.
- Planning of the work order spares and determining the scope.
Administration:
- Capturing feedback and time data on all completed work orders, the completion of necessary inspection of reports and Healthy and Safety Appointees.
Housekeeping and other functions:
- Regular housekeeping and maintenance of machines to required standard (Maintaining Power factor, machines and Electrical panels)
Qualification Requirements
- Matric
- Apprenticeship trained Electrician with a very sound Mechanical background.
- Trade tested (Dept. of Labour) (Red Seal) with a minimum of N3 in relevant trade.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 5-7 years in relevant trade (Milling environment and Fawema Packaging Machines – added advantage).
- Experience working on PLC and Scada systems.
- Knowledge of Variable frequency drives installation and fault finding.
- Mechanical experience which must include shaft alignment, motor overhaul, installation heavy of equipment.
- Pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
