EE Position
Introduction:
Komatsu is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic Artisan to join their dynamic team at their Reman Centre in Kathu. The preferred candidate should have at least 5 years post trade experience on heavy earthmoving equipment and experience stripping and building engines and transmissions.
Qualifications:
- A Trade Certificate: Heavy Earthmoving Mechanic.
- Grade 12/ N3 Technical Certificate.
- Qualified Diesel Mechanic/ Heavy Earth Moving Mechanic with suitable experience will be considered.
Experience:
- 5 years post trade on earth moving equipment/ components.
Specific knowledge requirements:
- 5 years experience working on earthmoving machinery
- Experience with remanufacturing of components (essential)
- Experience stripping and building engines and transmissions (essential)
- Computer literate
- Knowledge of failure modes, mechanics, hydraulics, electrical, engineering/ salvaging
- Have good troubleshooting knowledge of machines & familiar with standard tool requirements
- Good understanding of maintenance philosophy
- Valid driver’s license
Job Specification:
- Carrying out proper Komatsu product diagnostics, repairs, services, and oil analysis.
- Complete service reports.
- Carry out inspections on customer machines.
- Conducting daily weekly/ quarterly/ annual Inspections
- Must be able to follow OEM manuals for disassembly and assembly of components
- Machine Repairs: Field and workshop
- Maintain Company service vehicle in good condition and carry out repairs to an acceptable standard.
- The successful incumbent will work overtime and standby and must be prepared to travel when needed.
- Plans for service of equipment (new and used in stock), about dates, workshops, the nomination of service, stock, and other resources
- Provides feedback about continuous improvement/suggestions to foreman/manager
- Plans troubleshooting process of equipment (new and used in stock)
