What You Will Do At Volvo Trucks you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large.

The purpose of the role is to Assemble heavy duty Trucks in line with the Volvo Production System Standards.

Job Objectives

  • Assemble vehicles and vehicle sub-components in line with plant SQCDP (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People) Targets and according to sprint instructions.
  • Perform other related responsibilities and carry out 5s (Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) and housekeeping responsibilities.
  • To ensure that all the tooling and equipment is well maintained.
  • Ensure that all SOPs (standard operating procedures) and Safety regulations are well adhered to and immediately report deviations to superior.
  • Participate and contribute to all other Production related activities i.e. Kaizen and Gemba events.

Qualiciation & Job Experience

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience from a similar work environment.
  • 3 years’ experience in the Automotive Industry.

  • Ability to use basic hand tools.
  • Physically Fit and able to lift heavy equipment.
  • Ability to read and follow assembly instructions.
  • Should be technically minded and practical.
  • Computer skills (Basic).
  • Good Interpersonal Skills.
  • Good Written and Verbal Communication Skills –English.
  • Good Problem Solving Skills.
  • Team Player.
  • Must be Flexible.
  • Self-driven/motivated and honest.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet targets and deadlines.
  • Reliability and resiliency.
