Job description
The Asset Manager role within MAN Financial Services (South Africa) ensures optimal asset utilization, risk mitigation, and value preservation while supporting the MAN Automotive South Africa’s strategic objectives in the commercial vehicle sector
Duties:
- Monitor and manage the financed asset portfolio (trucks, trailers and buses).
- Track asset performance, residual values, and market trends.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assess asset risk exposure and implement mitigation strategies.
- Oversee repossession, re-marketing, and resale of vehicles when required.
- Collaborate with credit and collections teams to minimize losses.
- Develop and maintain residual value models for trucks and buses.
- Provide input into pricing strategies and lease structures.
- Conduct market analysis to forecast asset depreciation.
- Work closely with MAN Automotive SA’s sales, dealer networks, and re-marketing channels.
- Support product launches with asset financing insights.
- Align asset management strategies with MAN Automotive SA’s commercial objectives.
- Implement asset tracking systems and reporting tools.
- Optimize fleet life-cycle management processes.
- Drive continuous improvement in asset recovery and resale operations.
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field.
Skills:
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an Asset Manager Role
- Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., National Credit Act, POPIA).
