We are seeking a dynamic, service-oriented Assistant Catering Manager to join our university catering team. This role supports the Catering Manager in overseeing daily food service operations across campus dining facilities, ensuring exceptional customer service, food quality, operational efficiency, and compliance with health and safety standards. Duties & Responsibilities
Assist in the management and coordination of daily catering operations. Supervise and support catering, kitchen, and service staff to ensure smooth service delivery. Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and customer satisfaction. Monitor food production, stock control, purchasing, and inventory management. Assist with budgeting, cost control, and waste reduction initiatives. Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, health, and safety regulations. Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management of staff. Manage staffing schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels during peak periods. Handle customer feedback and resolve service-related queries professionally. Assist with planning and executing university events, conferences, functions, and special catering requirements. Prepare operational reports and maintain accurate records.### Skills and Competencies
Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work flexible hours when required for events and special functions.### Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Catering Management, Food Service Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a supervisory or management role within catering, hospitality, food service, or contract catering.
- Previous experience within a university, educational, healthcare, or large-volume catering environment will be advantageous.
