Role Description The Assistant Catering Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Emalahleni, responsible for supporting the planning and delivery of catering services within UBUNTUBANK facilities. This role includes assisting with menu planning, coordinating food preparation and service, and ensuring that catering operations meet hygiene, safety, and quality standards. The Assistant Catering Officer helps manage stock levels, supports vendor and supplier coordination, and monitors costs to align with budget guidelines. Daily tasks also involve setting up catering for meetings and events, maintaining clean and orderly kitchen and serving areas, and collaborating with internal teams to meet staff and visitor catering needs. The role requires consistent on-site presence, attention to detail, and a strong customer service orientation.

Qualifications

Comprehensive CV + Grade 12 + Culinary Diploma in Salt & Pepper and Pastry/Diploma in Hospitality Management/Hotel Management + Code C

Driver's Licence + Minimum two (5) years' Food and Hospitality related experience.

Experience in catering, hospitality, or food service operations, including basic knowledge of menu planning and event catering.

• Understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, and compliance with health regulations in a catering or kitchen environment.
• Organizational and time management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple catering activities and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with colleagues, suppliers, and clients.
• Ability to work on-site in Emalahleni, including standing for extended periods and performing hands-on catering tasks.
• Basic numeracy and record-keeping skills to assist with stock control, ordering, and cost monitoring.
• Previous experience in a corporate or institutional catering setting is an advantage.
• Relevant certificate or diploma in hospitality, catering management, or a related field is beneficial.

Pay: R10 436,25 - R25 701,19 per month
