Assistant Factory Manager – Food Manufacturing
The Assistant Factory Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the food manufacturing facility, ensuring production is efficient, cost-effective, and compliant with food safety, quality, and health and safety standards. The role includes managing production, staff, equipment, inventory, and continuous improvement to achieve operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee daily production and ensure targets are achieved.
* Maintain high standards of food safety, quality, hygiene, and compliance (HACCP, GMP, and Health & Safety).
* Lead, train, supervise, and motivate production staff.
* Monitor productivity, minimise waste, and improve operational efficiency.
* Ensure machinery is properly maintained and production downtime is minimised.
* Manage raw materials, inventory, and stock control.
* Prepare production reports and monitor key performance indicators.
* Investigate and resolve production, quality, and operational issues.
* Ensure a safe, clean, and organised working environment.
* Control production costs and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
* Proven experience in a factory management role within the food manufacturing industry.
* Strong knowledge of food production processes, quality systems, and food safety standards.
* Excellent leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
* Computer literate with experience in production reporting.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.

Supervises: Production Supervisors, Machine Operators, Production Staff, Warehouse Personnel, and General Workers.
Pay: From R15 000,00 per month
