Octotel is an established and rapidly expanding Open Access Service Provider, specializing in Open Access & GPON connectivity. Role Overview
A reliable and detail-oriented Assistant Installation Technician supporting fibre network installations in the George area. Responsible for assisting with the installation and ensuring work is completed to FNO standards and safety regulations. Experienced in cable pulling, equipment setup, basic fault finding, and working effectively as part of a field team to deliver high-quality network connectivity to customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the installation of network infrastructure and equipment as per site plan.
- Monitor and maintain boot stock for installation team vehicles.
- Responsible for the electrical and hard tool inventory to be used for site installations.
- Adhere to standard health and safety regulations.
- And any other reasonable task.
Requirements:
- Matric Certificate or equivalent.
- Tertiary level IT or Telecommunications qualification is preferred.
- A minimum of one year with hands-on fibre experience.
- Experience of at least one year working with generic power tools.
- Valid code 8 Drivers License.
- This role involves hands-on, active work and requires a good level of physical fitness to carry out tasks effectively.
