Job description
We are seeking suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Assistant Officer
Key Responsibilities ·
Manage and maintain nature reserve operations and conservation activities. · Monitor biodiversity, ecosystems, and environmental conditions within the reserve. · Coordinate and supervise alien invasive vegetation clearing programmes. · Conduct field inspections, patrols, and environmental assessments using GPS and maps. · Prepare accurate reports, records, and conservation management documentation. · Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, policies, and reserve management plans. · Perform Safety Representative duties and promote compliance with the OHS Act. · Identify hazards, conduct safety inspections, and implement corrective actions. · Operate and maintain reserve vehicles and field equipment in accordance with licence requirements. · Supervise field teams and contractors engaged in conservation and environmental management activities.
Minimum Requirements ·
Minimum 3–5 years valid Nature Reserve Management experience. · Diploma in Nature Conservation, Forestry, or Agriculture with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience. · Must submit a detailed CV, academic qualifications, and reference letters as proof of experience. · Must possess a valid Code B Driver’s Licence and Public Driver’s Permit (PrDP). · Must have alien vegetation clearing experience. · Must possess good report writing skills. ·Must be able to use GPS and maps. · Must have Safety Representative experience and be fully conversant with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS Act).
