Assistant Panel Saw Operator

Position Overview

We are looking for a semi-skilled and reliable Assistant panel saw operator to join our team on a part-time basis with the intent to become full-time. The ideal candidate should have experience working with board products, be able to work accurately under time constraints, and take pride in producing high-quality work with minimal material wastage. Key Responsibilities and Requirements

• Must have the ability to accurately read and understand cutting lists and measurements
• Measure and cut boards accurately according to specifications.
• Operate a panel saw safely and efficiently.
• Ensure all cutting is completed accurately.
• Plan cuts effectively to minimise material wastage.
• Identify and report any discrepancies or defects with materials.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Must take proper care of tools, machinery and materials.
• Work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.

The following will count in your favour:

• Ability to create cutting lists.
• Knowledge and Experience on how to operate an edgebander.
• Experience with other woodworking machinery.
• Basic knowledge of hardware, hinges, drawer runners and cabinet fittings.
• Experience in assembling units.
• Strong problem-solving skills.

The ideal candidate must be hands-on, accurate, reliable, organised, and able to work efficiently under pressure, with strong attention to detail and a good understanding of cutting lists, measurements, plans, and board products.

Pay: R30,00 - R70,00 per hour
