Assistant Print Operator

ZaPOP has an opportunity available for a hands-on go-getter who likes to work in a fast-paced environment. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring that the printing machines are managed effectively to guarantee that all print jobs are completed on time and at the best possible quality.

Requirements:

• Matric/Grade 12 with Maths Literacy.
• One year experience in digital printing (Working on Mimaki flatbed and roll-to-roll machines)
• Knowledge of printer maintenance.
• Beginner knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word.

General Skills/Attributes:

• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to handle pressure and deadline-driven.
• Ability to prioritise and take initiative.
• Self-motivated.
• Work independently and as part of a team.

Duties:

• Prepare and operate multiple printing machines with different size and colour capacities.
• Prioritise print jobs according to printing capacity and delivery dates.
• Request printing material for the upcoming week.
• Match print with colour proof and ensure the correct substrate is used for each project.
• Perform ongoing quality control and monitoring of each print machine’s operation.
• Make timeous corrections to avoid losses of substrate and ink.
• Perform routine maintenance as per schedule.
• Update each job card and reprint sheet (if applicable) on an ongoing basis.
• Conduct monthly stock takes on print material.
• Ensure health and safety rules are followed and that PPE is worn at all times.
• Ensure that the warehouse is kept neat and clean according to the cleaning schedule.
