Requirements

• Relevant 3-year tertiary qualification, preferably a B-Degree or

National Diploma in the criminal justice or related fields

• 1-3 years’ relevant experience in the field of policing and

crime prevention, community safety issues and community-based

safety initiatives

• A valid driver’s licence
• Computer literacy: MS Word
• No criminal record

Key Performance Areas

• Assist with the establishment and coordination of

community-driven crime prevention support initiatives and

projects.

• Develop community-based programs and resources by

holding workshops/presentations to recruit suitable

volunteers for crime-prevention and other community-driven

operations /programs.

• Assist with the administration of community safety related

initiatives/projects.

• Liaise with existing Community Safety Structures and other

relevant stakeholders to develop and maintain relationships

with residents and implement community safety initiatives.

• Analyse and interpret benchmarking information in respect

of Community Safety matters to adapt or develop projects

or programs that will be of value to communities.

• Adherence to financial plan as budgeted to ensure financial

administration that would support the department’s

budgetary objectives.

• Manage training and skills development and the transfer of

skills and knowledge.
