Assistant Restaurant Manager

Position Overview

The Assistant Restaurant Manager assists with the daily operation of the restaurant, ensuring efficient service, high standards and a positive guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the daily opening, running and closing of the restaurant.
• Supervise and support Front of House staff during service.
• Allocate staff duties and ensure sections are properly managed.
• Maintain high standards of customer service, cleanliness and presentation.
• Assist with staff training, performance and day-to-day discipline.
• Ensure food and beverage service standards are maintained.
• Assist with bar operations, stock control and daily checklists.
• Handle customer queries and complaints professionally.
• Assist with POS, cash-up and basic daily administration.
• Communicate effectively with the kitchen and management team.
• Ensure health, safety and hygiene standards are followed.
• Report operational issues, maintenance requirements and stock shortages to management.
• Step in and assist wherever required during busy periods.

Requirements

• Previous restaurant or hospitality experience.
• Supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and lead by example.
• Reliable, organised and hands-on.
• Flexible to work weekends, public holidays and varying shifts.

Key Expectation

The Assistant Restaurant Manager is expected to be a hands-on leader, actively involved in the operation and setting the standard for the team through professionalism, accountability and genuine hospitality.

Pay: Up to R15 000,00 per month
