About Us:
Jakkalsvlei Private Cellar is a well-established Wine Estate & Restaurant near Mossel Bay, known for excellent food, wine and warm hospitality. We are looking for a dedicated and organised Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our team and help lead our front-of-house operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily restaurant operations, including staff management and customer service
- Oversee inventory management and stock control
- Help with menu planning, food preparation and presentation
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention
- Support senior management with administrative tasks and reporting
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with hygiene standards
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years' working experience in the restaurant industry
- Previous managing experience will be a definite advantage
- Matric certificate (Grade 12)
- Valid driver's license with reliable transport
- Must reside in Mossel Bay, Dana Bay, or Herbertsdale
- Computer literate with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook etc.)
- Working experience with a POS system, preferably GAAP
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Clean, well-groomed and presentable appearance
- Ability to work long hours, including weekends and public holidays
- Sober habits and a positive, professional attitude
