Job description

Key Performance Areas (KPAs)

When allocated, drive the company vehicle and take full accountability of the vehicle

Drive the CIT vehicle in a safe and economic manner when transport client’s assets.

Drive vehicle(s) in such a manner that vehicle Fuel consumption is within target norms / standards of fuel consumed, for specific vehicle model measured in Litres / 100km’s.

Exercise good and economical defensive driving techniques.

Adhere to the company’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and "Driver Safety Regulations"

Perform daily pre and post inspections on the vehicle to ensure that the vehicle is in a safe and road worthy condition.

Report all vehicle problems on pre & post trip inspections. Maintain vehicle in accordance with established maintenance standards.

Abide by all laws regarding the use of vehicles on public roads.

Maintain logbook / records (run sheet) of trips and report behaviour of passengers as per policy and procedure.

Responsible to deliver the Cash within the agreed timeframe.

Avoid and monitor unauthorised and unplanned stops.

Maintain radio or telephone contact with control room to receive instructions or be dispatched to new location.

Follow the shortest assigned routes to transport cash and other assets.

Assume responsibility for care and maintenance of the vehicle and reports all defects to the fleet controller.

Keep vehicle tidy and clean.

Responsible for maintaining saddle up & down, turnaround time and allocated run time.

Full ownership of the safeguarding and transportation of company assets

Safeguard company assets according to SBV policies and procedures times

Take responsibility for the equipment used by complying to all procedures and safety standards

Undergo continuous training on new tactics

Adhere to company policy and procedures all times

Drive an armoured vehicle making collections and deliveries to customer premises

Apply observation skills & deploying tactically to ensure safe collection and delivery of client's assets as per standard operating procedures

Report any variances or changes to the way job is handled to line management

Follow proposed routes as per schedule and advise the centre of any deviations to the planned route

Accountable for the proper utilisation of one’s own and the teams equipment / items issued

Inspect all equipment allocated, to ensure they are in good working order and availability

Immediate escalate defective equipment to line management

Take proper care and safeguard equipment and keys – neatness, correct usage and safekeeping

Proper utilisation of equipment provided including personal protective equipment such as bullet proof

Adhere to company policies and procedures

Adhere to Corporate Image & Dress Code (Behaviour & Appearance)

Report any criminal activity in accordance with company procedures

Effective teamwork

Demonstrate respect and support for team members at all times

Work closely with one another, cover and protect each other in the course of all duties

Support the team leader in adhering to the standard operating procedures, informing them of any deviations from the procedures

Customer service

Provide a high level of customer service to internal and external customers

Develop working relationships with various bank personnel, as well as vendors while demonstrating a strong work ethic and high integrity

Display professional behaviour and appearance (Neatness of uniforms, clean shaven, wearing of bullet proofs)

Provide a high standard of customer service to the business partners both internal and external

Record keeping and administration

Responsible for the completeness & correctness of weapon & key registers, etc.

Oversee all administration processes of run including run schedule procedures; pre & post inspection sheets, collection/delivery of consignment, attendance registers

Maintain records as per company procedure

React within the correct security measures in threatening circumstances

Initiate the information-gathering process as quickly and thoroughly as is feasible

Contact the applicable SBV representative (e.g. Fleet Controller, HOD, TC's or Manager), traffic department and police immediately as per company policy and procedure

Maintain Logistics Re-loaded schedules

Monitor and maintain radio communication with SBV Control Room on a regular basis as per company policy and procedure

Record keeping of all papers (Track and Trace device) and ensuring that all documentation conforms to the highest standards and signed by clients at all time

Maintain, update and complete all necessary documentation in terms of Company procedures

Subscribe and align to SBV Services' ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Standards, ensuring the department’s processes and quality management system is at all times in compliance with the standard.

Support SBVs ESG journey, reporting on and managing the ESG requirements to ensure a positive reflection and outcome.

Supervision of team

Undertake and is accountable for all checks e.g., team, equipment, administration.

Take full accountability for the adherence of all members, including oneself to the standard operating procedures

Effective communication / control of team (Cockpit Management)

Manage time effectively and ensure there are minimal delays in delivering service to the clients

Maintain good communication with the supervisor and team members to relate problems to him/her so that they can be resolved professionally

Adhere to standard Company Policy and procedures, standard operating procedures, relating to drivers such as but not limited to the following:

CIT PRO -019 – Tactical Deployment procedures

CIT POL -006 – Fleet Fuel Card policy

CIT POL – 002 –Motor Vehicle Safety policy

CIT POL – 003 – Dress Code policy o CIT PRO-021 – PUDU Activation procedure

CIT PRO -029 – Pre & Post Trip Inspection procedure

CIT PRO -061 – Retail Drop vault procedure

CIT PRO -030- Crew Interlock procedure

Drive the organisation culture

Drive the department’s values while inspiring confidence and generating excitement, enthusiasm and commitment towards the mission.

Lead as an Ambassador and executor of Change

Act as a change management architect in periods of change to ensure business continuity.

Manage the integration of business units into a seamless end to end solution for customers.

Effectively communicate and embed new processes and procedures as they occur, addressing or escalating matters/ concerns to the SME’s (subject matter experts) when required.

Facilitate the necessary presentations, workshops, or forums to ensure consistent and accurate communication is given across one’s portfolio.

Minimum Requirements: Work Experience

Previous supervisory experience: Advantageous

Minimum Requirements: Education

Applicants with Grade 12:

1 year experience in CIT

Valid code 10 Driver’s licence

Valid PDP - Successful completion of CITPO training

PSIRA Grade C

Firearm Competency

Only internal - Applicants with Grade 10/11:

3 years’ experience in CIT
