Assistant Store Manager

Job description:

Are you an experienced leader passionate about retail and customer service? A well-established FMCG retail store is looking for a dynamic Assistant Store Manager to join our team and take charge of daily operations to ensure the store’s success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Store Manager with daily store operations.
• Drive sales, merchandising, and stock management.
• Ensure excellent customer service and store presentation.
• Supervise, train, and support staff.
• Assist with cash handling, administration, and stock control.
• Monitor promotions, pricing, and stock availability.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• 2-3 years' retail supervisory or management experience.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Knowledge of stock control and merchandising.
• Customer service-driven and results-oriented.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Computer literate (MS Office and POS systems).
• Willing to work retail hours, weekends, and public holidays.
• High levels of integrity, responsibility, and accountability.

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 2-3 years' retail supervisory/management experience.
• Experience within a supermarket environment will be advantageous.
• Ability to lead and manage teams effectively.
• Strong numerical and administrative abilities.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to work flexible retail hours.
