Assistant to Accountant

We are looking for a reliable and versatile Personal Assistant to support a busy accounting and tax practice. The successful candidate will assist with administrative tasks, client communication, and basic accounting functions such as data capturing and document management. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a fast-paced professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to the accountant and team
• Capture financial transactions on accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or similar)
• Organize and maintain client documents, files, and records
• Follow up with clients for outstanding documents such as bank statements and invoices
• Assist with preparation of documents for VAT and tax submissions
• Schedule appointments and manage calendars
• Respond to client queries via email and phone
• Assist with general office administration and filing
• Maintain accurate digital records of client information

Minimum Requirements

• Matric (Accounting as a subject will be advantageous)
• Basic knowledge of bookkeeping or accounting principles
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Excel, Word, Email)
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Collection and drop off at departments and clients

Advantageous

• Experience working in an accounting firm
• Knowledge of Sage, QuickBooks, or similar accounting software
• Basic understanding of VAT or bookkeeping processes
• Own Vehicle

Pay: R8 000,00 - R10 000,00 per month
